Her Name Was Auntie — And That’s All Anyone Ever Needed to Know

Some names are temporary.
Some titles fade.
But some names… become a frequency.

Her name was Auntie.
And that’s all anyone ever needed to know.

Yes, she was our aunt by blood — my mother’s sister.
But more than that, she was everyone’s aunt.
Not just to us, her family —
but to neighbors, church friends, even strangers.

People at her funeral didn’t even know her name was Yvonne.
They only ever knew her as Auntie.
Because that’s how she introduced herself.
That’s who she chose to be.

It didn’t matter if you were 8 or 88…
if you met her, you were met with love.
And that love said, “I’m Auntie. You’re safe with me.”

She was nurturing.
She was funny.
She was strong.
She was soft.
She was tired — but she never quit.
Not until it was time.

And oh… when the time came, she crossed over like royalty.

No pit stops.
No holding zones.
No fractured energy needing to heal.
She went straight home.

Her mission was complete.
Her Light was intact.
And God received her the moment she took her last breath.

On the morning of Sunday, September 29, 2024,
Auntie left Earth and stepped into the arms of the Divine —
with grace, peace, and a whole army of angels welcoming her home.

I whispered it to her over and over again in her final year:

“Auntie… it’s okay. You can go now. You don’t have to suffer anymore.”

And finally… she listened.
Even the priest, the day before she passed, spoke it aloud:

“Yvonne… you go home now. You go see the Light.”

And she did.

So today, I honor her not with sadness,
but with deep reverence.

She wasn’t a background character.
She was a soul anchor in our lives.
And now, she’s one of our greatest allies in the Light.

She’ll always be Auntie.
To me. To you. To anyone whose heart ever felt her presence.

Her name was Auntie.
And that was more than enough.
