🌷 A Loving Tribute to Lucille — My First Teacher of Light
There are some women in this world who quietly shape the future by how they live, love, and lead — my mother, Lucille, was one of them.
When I was just ten years old, Lucille wasn’t only my mother — she was a force of nature. A divisional manager with Princess House, a home-based company that sold fine crystal, china, and flatware through in-home party plans, she carried the energy of a woman ahead of her time. This was the 1970s — a time when the idea of a woman running her own mini-empire from home wasn’t just rare, it was revolutionary.
Princess House operated like other popular direct-sales companies of the era, but it had a touch of class, of sparkle. It wasn’t plastic containers or everyday products — it was elegance. Crystal. Silver. Fine gifts that brought joy into people’s homes. And Lucille brought that joy to life.
Over the years, she rose from a simple associate to a leadership position, guiding and mentoring nearly 60 women in her division. These women didn’t just work under her — they looked up to her. They came to our house for meetings, for support, for inspiration. And every single time they walked through our front door, my mother made sure they were met with warmth, grace, and the highest level of hospitality.
What most people don’t know is that behind the scenes, I was her partner.
At just ten years old, I became her secretary, her assistant, her silent support team. I helped her organize paperwork, unload truck deliveries, sort boxes into filing cabinets, and prepare for meetings with care. I knew every product, every price, every face. I served coffee and tea to the women, remembered what cookies they liked, and greeted them all with a hug and a kiss — just as my mother taught me to.
Our home was not just a home — it was a training center, a sanctuary, and a spark of something greater. And through all of it, I was learning from Lucille more than I even realized. She was teaching me discipline, grace, public speaking, leadership, intuition, and most importantly — the power of service.
🌞 A Legacy of Positivity and Light
But even beyond her work, Lucille’s greatest gift to me was how she saw the world.
She taught me to always look for the good in people.
She raised me to lead with optimism — to focus on light instead of shadow, on blessings instead of burdens.
She never carried bitterness, never held onto anger. She didn’t gossip. She didn’t speak ill of others. She lived in such a way that everyone around her felt safe, seen, and valued.
Her default setting was love.
And that love trained my eyes to always look for beauty — even in hardship, even in pain.
It’s a gift I carry with me to this day… and one I now share with the world.
💫 A Thank You from the Heart
As life went on, our paths diverged. Over time, we came to see the world through very different lenses. That part has been difficult — knowing that I cannot share the fullness of my spiritual path with the very person who helped me find my voice in the first place. But even in that, my love and reverence for her has never wavered.
Mom, this post is a gift to your soul.
It’s a thank-you for every hug, every moment, every whispered truth you passed on to me.
It’s an offering of love — the kind that never fades, even when the paths we walk look different on the surface.
You were my first teacher.
You lit the fire inside me.
And no matter how far we drift in ideas, your light still lives in me.
